Missions Scholarships

Honor Her scholarships help women who are students at Grace Schools in Winona Lake, Indiana, explore future ministry possibilities through participating in short-term missions sponsored by Grace Brethren International Missions or other Grace Brethren ministries.

The funds come from gifts of women who wish to honor other women who lived lives of faithfulness and service to the Lord and who had a heart to spread the gospel to all people of the world. Gifts can be given in memory or honor of a woman who has died, or in honor of one still living.

TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP YOU MUST:

1)       Be a female Grace Schools student  (preference will be given to full time students).

2)       Be a Missions major/minor or have a Missions focus for your future.

3)    Be accepted on or in the final steps of applying for a team through Grace Brethren International Missions (GBIM) or CE National.

Scholarship recipients are selected by representatives from Grace College and the Women of Grace leadership team.

Your gift is a thoughtful and loving way to pay tribute to someone special while investing in the kingdom of God.

Mary James - France 2011

2011 Recipient: Mary James - GBIM internship in France

Mary is a sophomore at Grace College. She is from Ashland Grace Brethren Church and  has had previous missions experience in the Dominican Republic and Cambodia.  Her pastoral reference letter from Norm Johnson, Mission Pastor, says, “Mary has had a heart for missions that remains to this day.”  Mary will be serving at the Chateau de St. Albain in areas of cooking and hospitality.  And as we all know how these things go, probably doing lots of other jobs as the need arises because of the increased ministry outreaches of the Chateau.

Mary shares:

“I would say that my walk with God has grown a lot this year.  I am beginning to grasp that nothing is out of God’s power…I am here to serve God and I feel pulled toward missions.  My France trip coming up is the next big step I am taking in missions and I hope that this will show me whether God wants me in missions over seas or not…I am enjoying this renewed relationship I have built with God…In the end he is the only one I need to worry about disappointing.”
